Conductor Earl Lee makes debut with Colorado Symphony

Korean-Canadian conductor Earl Lee joins the Colorado Symphony this week in two concerts on Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17. In his debut performances with the orchestra, Lee leads an American program centered around banjo soloist Béla Fleck's version of Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue. Excerpts from Fleck's own Banjo Concerto Juno and Carlos Simon Four Black American Dances are also featured; the all-American programme culminates in Rachmaninov Symphonic Dances, written in New York in 1940.
Lee conducts the Symphonic Dances again in Toronto, where he returns to the Royal Conservatory for his fourth consecutive season as a guest conductor of the Royal Conservatory Symphony in Koerner Hall. The concert on Friday, November 22 opens with Strauss Till Eulenspiegel and features violinist Anna Stube in Benjamin Britten Violin Concerto.
